This Information Update follows up on our November 10, 2025 bulletin, which announced further bridge funding for eligible early childhood educator employees.
As noted in the November communication, CSSEA and the CSSBA reached an agreement on the allocation of Early Childhood Education (ECE) wage enhancements (WEs) in May 2024 that were made available by government through its Early Care and Learning Recruitment and Retention Strategy.
Government has provided a lump sum payment for the continuation of the wage enhancements, under the same eligibility terms, for an additional payment to cover the period between the last pay period of December 2025 and the last pay period of February 2026. This payment will be the final payment because the agreement has expired.
CSSEA will distribute the funds by issuing a cheque that will be mailed via Canada Post to the participating child care agencies in the coming weeks.
