Further Bridge Funding for Eligible Early Childhood Education Employees

This Information Update follows up on our April 7, 2025 bulletin, which announced further bridge funding for eligible early childhood educator employees.

As noted in the April communication, CSSEA and the CSSBA reached an agreement on the allocation of Early Childhood Education (ECE) wage enhancements (WEs) in May 2024 that were made available by government through its Early Care and Learning Recruitment and Retention Strategy. Benefit payments were available to certain early childhood educators from the last pay period of June 2024 through the last pay period of April 2025 and were further extended through October 2025.  

Government has provided a lump sum payment for the continuation of the wage enhancements, under the same eligibility terms, for an additional payment that will be due in the last pay period of December 2025. CSSEA will continue to distribute these funds by issuing a cheque this week that will be mailed via Canada Post to the participating child care agencies.
