Feedback Requested on Government Social Service Delivery Consultation
On June 12, 2026, Keith Godin, Deputy Minister for Children and Family Development, and Raymond Fieltsch, Acting Deputy Minister for Social Development and Poverty Reduction, informed CSSEA through this e-mail that it would be conducting an engagement to review the coordination of social service delivery in BC across ministries – drawing on input from frontline workers, community organizations, Indigenous partners and sectoral partners like CSSEA.
CSSEA's Board convened a special Board meeting on August 25, 2026 with Keith Godin and Emily Arthur, Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategic Alignment and Integration, Ministry of Children and Family Development. During the meeting the parties reviewed the purpose of the work underway, current issues and potential solutions. A summary of that meeting, as well as this presentation, will be discussed with panel members at the next panel meeting on September 15, 2026. CSSEA will then present its points on behalf of members by the end of September in line with consultation timelines. If you would like to provide feedback on your own experiences and recommendations that can inform CSSEA’s overall response to this consultation, you are asked to e-mail them, in confidence, to me at: scase@cssea.bc.ca by September 18.
2026 AGM and Conference
With just over one month to go until CSSEA’s 2026 AGM and Conference, Leading for Change, we remind members that now is the time to register. While some sessions are now at capacity, there is still an opportunity to secure space in ample sessions, as well as the Community Social Services Awards of Excellence, sponsored by Telus. ISJEP Orientation Session
Agencies party to the Indigenous Services (IS) Collective Agreement are invited to a complimentary orientation session on October 14, 2026 from 12:00-1:00 pm that will discuss the new classification system negotiated under MOU #31.The parties have agreed that the new Indigenous Services Job Evaluation Plan (ISJEP) and updated Maintenance Agreement & Classification Manual will be fully implemented effective October 21, 2026 for both delegated and non-delegated jobs under the 2026-2029 IS Collective Agreement.
This session will provide an overview of the ISJEP, including:
- Background on how the ISJEP was developed;
- ISJEP Benchmarks and the Public Service Job Evaluation Plan (PSJEP);
- Processes for establishing new/materially changed jobs;
- Classification dispute resolution mechanism for both delegated and non-delegated jobs; and
- Preparing for implementation.
CSSEA encourages all IS Agencies impacted by this change to attend this session.

2026 Compensation and Employee Turnover Report
The 2026 Compensation and Employee Turnover Report is now due and if you have not yet submitted your report, we ask that you do so as soon as possible, as timely submission is essential to ensuring we have the most current and accurate data. CSSEA is working closely with funders to provide information and costing to support the distribution of funding across the sector. Your report plays a critical role in informing this process and your prompt submission is appreciated. If you have any questions about report completion, please contact research@cssea.bc.ca.
Invitation to Participate in Funding Survey
The Federation of Community Social Services of BC is inviting community social services organizations across the province to participate in a sector-wide study examining the relationship between administrative and operational funding and the actual cost of delivering services. The confidential survey will help identify funding challenges, build a shared understanding of non-compensation costs and support the development of a fair and consistent sector-wide funding policy. Organizations of all sizes and funding backgrounds are encouraged to participate by September 18 at 5 pm Pacific Time. The survey takes approximately one hour and requires three years of funding information and completed Excel spreadsheets; responses may be saved and completed over multiple sessions.
