Sandra is an executive leader and legal counsel with a depth of experience advising Boards on strategic human resource, governance and operational matters, leading collective bargaining tables for various sectors and individual employers and advocating for employers in arbitration and mediation. Sandra served as the Chief People & Culture Officer for the Michael Smith Health Research BC organization. Sandra has extensive expertise in human resources, coaching and employment law. She has held executive and senior management roles at the Port of Vancouver and the Community Social Services Employers’ Association, where she She has presided as Board Chair at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and the Asia Pacific Gateway Skills Table and served on the Board of the Writers’ Festival. Sandra holds a Juris Doctor of Law from UBC, an Institute of Corporate Directors’ Designation and a graduate leadership degree from Royal Roads University. |

Eric Peraro rejoined the Community Social Services Employers Association (CSSEA) in December 2011 as Director of Research and Knowledge Management department. His team’s responsibilities include providing labour market and compensation data, analysis and costing support during collective bargaining, the joint job evaluation program (JJEP), information technology infrastructure and data systems. He previously held the role of Compensation and Benefits Coordinator at CSSEA from 2000 to 2003, in which he led the Employers’ team that developed the Community Social Services Joint Job Evaluation system and provincial wage schedule. Before rejoining CSSEA, he was the Director of Research and Knowledge Management for six years at Health Employers’ Association of BC (HEABC). Prior to holding the position of Director, he was a Senior Physician Compensation Consultant at HEABC. Eric has significant experience with public sector bargaining, having been a member of the BC Government Physician Negotiations Team and various other bargaining teams for health care workers in HEABC. Before moving to Canada, Eric was the Compensation Manager for Coca Cola Bottlers Philippines Inc. (CCBPI). Prior to joining Coca Cola, he worked for ten years in the telecommunication industry doing job evaluations, organization studies, business process reengineering and manpower planning. Eric holds a degree in B.S. Industrial Management Engineering. |

Mark Slobin joined CSSEA in December, 2015 and in June, 2016 was appointed as Executive Director for the Human Resources/Labour Relations group. He is responsible for coordinating emerging human resource issues that impact the community social services sector as a whole, acting as lead spokesperson in provincial collective bargaining of the sectoral agreements, and for leading the HRLR professional team. In addition, he also acts as spokesperson in several rounds of collective bargaining for associate members. Prior to joining CSSEA, Mark held a number of leadership positions in the health sector for over 25 years, performing in similar roles to further the interests of a full range of health employers, including the health authorities and contracted service providers. Mark’s definition of success in his role is to ensure that CSSEA’s member agencies have access to the resources, advice, and representation they need to implement best human resources practices that support the delivery of high quality community social services. |

Doris Sun joined CSSEA in April 2016 as Manager of Communications and in December 2017, was appointed Director of Communications. In her role, she produces member communications, organizes CSSEA’s Annual General Meeting and Conference, manages the BC Community Social Services Awards of Excellence and conducts outreach with potential community partners. Doris was previously Senior Communications Specialist and Editor at the Association of BC Forest Professionals, where she was responsible for organizing a yearly conference, as well as producing a 32-page bi-monthly magazine. Doris received her start in communications at CSSEA, where she served as Communications Coordinator from 2009-2012. Prior to stepping into communications, Doris worked in journalism and reported for the Vancouver Sun, CBC Television and CBC online. She holds a Masters of Journalism and Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, both from the University of British Columbia. |
