CSSEA Launches BC Community Social Services Awards of Excellence

CSSEA is pleased to announce the launch of the first annual BC Community Social Services Awards of Excellence, sponsored by TELUS. 

The Awards of Excellence are designed to celebrate BC’s publicly-funded community social services sector and recognize the sector’s most important asset, its employees who provide vital services to the most vulnerable people in our communities.

The award categories are:

• Rising Star: An individual with less than five years’ experience in the community social services sector who demonstrates early success and great promise as a future leader
•  Hero: Someone who goes the extra mile to make a difference in community social services – someone all staff can look to for inspiration
•  Leader: A formal or informal leader, mentor, or team builder who has brought fresh ideas to the social services field and created positive and lasting change
• Legend: An individual with 15 or more years of experience in the community social services sector who has made extraordinary contributions to the community and to the sector

We are asking members to help promote the Awards of Excellence by:

•  posting the awards poster in your worksites. Copies of the poster are in the mail to you.
•  sending a message to your employees 
•  posting a message to your Facebook page, Twitter account

Do you know someone in your agency who has gone above and beyond for a client, for the agency, or for the sector? If so, this is your opportunity to give them the recognition they deserve.

Nominations for the first annual BC Community Social Services Awards of Excellence are open from May 1 through June 10, 2015. Winners will receive travel and accommodation to the 2015 AGM in Vancouver and will be announced at the Awards Luncheon on October 5.
